Scott has a deep passion to preach and teach the Word of God so that people understand and believe the message of the Gospel and grow in their knowledge of God so that they become deeply satisfied in God’s goodness and joyfully obedient because of His grace.

Born and raised in Texas, Scott trusted Christ in 1985 and began preaching as a teenager. He graduated from Katy High School in Katy, TX, then earned a B.A. in Biblical Studies from Criswell College in Dallas, TX, and a Master of Divinity degree at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Having pastored churches in Texas and Georgia, Scott accepted the call in 2020 to become the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Prosper.

Scott and his wife Amanda have been married since January 1994 and have four children. For fun, Scott enjoys woodworking, playing the electric guitar, reading, and hiking with Amanda.
