First Baptist Church, Prosper, is searching for the next Director for First Friends, the weekday preschool ministry of the church. First Friends is a licensed child care center that enjoys an outstanding reputation in the community for excellence in child development. The school employees 30 teachers, three administrators, and one director, with a current enrollment of 190 children. The program includes options for two-day, three-day, or four-day students, with classes ranging from 18 months old to Transitional Kindergarten.
The director creates policies, manages staff, and oversees daily operations. The director is the lead administrator, encourager, equipper, and is a spiritual leader to their staff and families. The director develops the scope and sequence of the school’s Christian-based curriculum and ensures the school meets standards set forth by the state. Other duties include teaching chapel, developing and maintaining the budget, and making admission decisions; as well as other necessary essential duties as they arise. As a ministry of the church, the Director will report to the First Prosper Children’s Pastor, and will have support from the First Prosper Pastor, Staff, Elders, Finance, and Personnel Teams.
Education: A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education is preferred. Business courses or a degree in management is a bonus. Must meet Texas standards of education and experience, defined by §746.1015ff of the Texas DFPS Minimum Standards for Child-Care Centers. Must also hold a Texas DFPS Licensing Child-Care Center Director’s Certificate, or secure this certification within first 6 months of employment.
Experience: Minimum two years in a similar educational environment as a director, administrator, or teacher.

Our competitive salary is commensurate with education
Hours: 25 hours/week. Monday – Thursday (9-4 p.m.). Fridays are also possible.
Pay Rate: Commensurate with experience.

Participate as a non-voting member of the Finance Team
Manage accounts receivable
Count all contributions from Sunday Worship Services
Electronically deposit checks; Deposit cash at local bank
Mange reporting of electronic payments with Church Teams
Print and distribute semi-annual and annual contribution statements
Provide monthly finance reports to Finance Team and Elders
Assist with accounts payable tasks
Cut mid-week needed checks in the absence of bookkeeper
Assist staff members in understanding budgeting items, expenses, and balances
Negotiation of contracts with new and existing vendors
Manage mission trip and retreat payments, donations, expenses, and collection
Primary liaison to Personnel Team
Participate as non-voting member of the Personnel Team
Coordinate Human Resources tasks on behalf of the church
Complete the hiring and on-boarding process with all new-hires
Maintain employee files and required paperwork
Interact with staff regarding personnel or payroll matters
Interact with the Personnel Team regarding personnel or payroll matters
Complete all employment paperwork and maintain employee records
Prepare Semi-Monthly Payroll for Payroll Partners
Primary Payroll liaison between staff and ADP
Oversee office operations and procedures, including office hours
