Our mission is to love God, Love People, and Change the World.

At First Prosper, we seek to fulfill that mission by first of all becoming fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.  Salvation in Jesus opens the doors of our hearts to have a personal relationship with the God of the Universe, expressed by our love and worship of Him.  In response to the love of God, we seek to fulfill His mission, by making it ours.  Our desire is to change the world for Jesus.  We do this by sharing His gospel message both locally and globally, by ministering to people, and by training others to become more and more like Jesus.

The Priorities of First Prosper

In the church and out of the church, we will lift high the God-head – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

“Praise Him, sun and moon, praise Him, all you shining stars” – Psalm 148:3

In the church and out of the church, we will lift high the God-head – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

Let them praise the name of the Lord,
    for his name alone is exalted;
his majesty is above earth and heaven.
– Psalm 148:13

From the neighborhoods to the nations, we seek with great urgency to tell people about Jesus and to raise up Christian leaders, and to start new churches.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” – Acts 1:8

We are ready to give generously of our time, talents, and treasures for His kingdom. With excellence, we bring our best.

“Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.” – Malachi 3:10

We are utterly dependent on the power of God through prayer for guidance, breakthroughs, and miracles.

And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit andcontinued to speak the word of God with boldness. – Acts 4:31

We are disciples of Jesus who make disciples who make disciples – through large groups, small groups, and one-to-one.  We do this with a sense of accountability and responsibility.

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.  And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.  And all who believed were together and had all things in common.  And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.  And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts,  praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved. – Acts 2:42-47

We believe in families that are Christ-focused, disciple-making, world-changing people.

And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.  You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.  You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.  You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.– Deuteronomy 6:6-9

Our doctrinal beliefs are aligned with the Baptist Faith and Message of the Southern Baptist Convention.
